A stamp album and world map that fill as you travel

Inkpass stores each country you have visited as an ink stamp in an album and as a colored patch on a flat world map. Add countries from a searchable grid, add the year of your first visit later, and share a World Card with your count and your rarest stamp.

How do you add countries to the album?

Tap the plus button or the Add stamps pill on the map. A grid of country silhouettes opens, grouped by continent tabs, with a search field at the top. Small countries are listed too, so a micro-state is never lost behind a big neighbor on the map.

Every tap adds a selection and a small haptic tick. The Stamp button shows the number of countries you chose, so you always know what you are about to add.

  1. Open the Map tab and tap Add stamps.
  2. Switch continents or search by name.
  3. Tap each country you have visited. Long-press to mark Been, Lived or Want to go.
  4. Tap Stamp, and the stamps land in the album.

What does a stamp look like?

A stamp has a perforated edge, a paper field in the color of its continent, the country silhouette in ink, and a footer bar with the country name and a running number such as No. 024. Europe uses cobalt on pale sky, Asia vermilion on peach, Africa umber on sand, North America green on sage, South America dark mustard on light mustard, Oceania teal on lagoon and Antarctica slate on ice.

Stamps sit slightly rotated in a two-column album. Sort them by newest, oldest, A to Z or rarest first. Tap one to open its detail page, where you can add a year, edit it or share it.

How does the map fill in?

The map is drawn offline from Natural Earth data, so it works in airplane mode. Countries you have been to take the ink color of their continent. Lived places get a solid fill with an inner outline. Want to go places are drawn as a hatched dashed outline, so they read as plans rather than visits.

Some areas with disputed status appear in a neutral hatch, with no name and no tap target. The country list follows UN membership, as the counting rules page explains.

The map has no place labels. You choose countries from the list, so precision on a phone screen never decides your count.

What is the World Card?

After your first stamping the app builds a World Card: your map, your country count in large mono numerals, the percentage of the world, the number of continents out of seven, and your rarest stamp. It also carries a title that comes from fixed rules. Four or more continents gives Continental Collector, and the Me tab explains each title.

Rarest is measured with World Bank Open Data on international tourist arrivals. The country with the lowest yearly arrivals among your stamps wins. The data can lag, and the About screen says so.

Which sizes and styles can you share?

The Share screen makes a Story card at 9:16 and a Post card at 1:1. You can switch the name, the count and the QR code on or off for the square version. Story cards always keep the QR, because the QR is how a viewer reaches the comparison page.

Card styles include Classic, Sky, Sage, Sand, Peach, Lagoon and Night. Extra styles are part of Inkpass Pro. Tap Share for the iOS share sheet, or Save image to put the card in Photos. Saving asks for add-only access, so the app cannot read your library.

Can you add when you first went?

Yes. Stamps without a year show a prompt: add the year, one country at a time, and your timeline completes. Years feed the Me tab, the Year in Travel recap and the optional weekly throwback.

Year in Travel shows your year so far as a map, your new stamps and a summary card for free. The full six-slide story, each slide a 9:16 image card, belongs to Pro. A recap is pushed in December if you allow notifications.

Where do I go next?

Send your card to a friend with a link through compare maps, or stamp a new country the day you land with an arrival stamp. If you want to see how counting differs between people, read how many countries have I visited.

Frequently asked questions

Does the world map work offline?

Yes. The map geometry is bundled in the app and drawn on the phone, so you can add stamps and browse the map without a connection.

Can I mark places I want to visit?

Yes. Long-press a country to mark Want to go. It appears as a hatched outline on the map and does not count toward your total.

Are the share cards free?

The World Card, arrival cards and link cards are free. Extra card styles and the full Year in Travel story are in Inkpass Pro.

Why is my rarest stamp a small island?

Rarest means the lowest yearly international tourist arrivals in World Bank data among your countries, so remote or small destinations often win.
