Compare your travel map with a friend using one link
Inkpass makes a link that holds your visited countries. A friend opens it in the browser, taps the countries they have been to, and sees both maps on one world with the overlap counted. Nobody installs anything or creates an account, and groups of up to 8 can join one crew link.

How does the overlap link work?
In the Crew tab, choose Send link, Copy link or Make a Story card. The link carries your visited countries and an optional name of up to 16 characters. Your friend taps it, picks the countries they have visited from the same continent grid, and gets the Overlap card in the browser.
The card shows how many countries you share, how many your friend has that you do not, and how many you have that they do not. It also names the rarest stamp you both hold and the continent where one of you is ahead.
- Open the Crew tab and tap Send link.
- Paste the link into a chat or a Stories link sticker.
- Your friend opens it and taps their countries.
- Both maps appear together with the overlap numbers.
Who is the overlap link for?
Anyone who wants to put two maps side by side without a sign-up. The same link fits several situations:
- Friends planning a trip: the Only them list names places one of you already knows.
- Couples: the rarest stamp you share starts a conversation by itself.
- A group chat of up to eight, such as a hiking club or a family: one crew link, one card.
What happens if my friend already has Inkpass?
The link opens the app instead. You see an overlap screen titled with both names: in common, only them, only you, and a rarest shared stamp. Tap Save to Crew and the friend stays on your phone, and opening a newer link from the same person updates their map.
Free keeps your 3 latest friends. Pro keeps everyone. Friends who open a link on the web can also send their map back to you, which creates a reply link carrying both maps.
What is a crew?
A crew is a group link, such as a Lisbon gang chat. You name it, add your map, and post the link. Each member opens it, adds their stamps and re-sends the grown link to the same chat. The crew card then shows the number of countries together, the countries everyone has, and the country only one member has been to.
A crew holds up to 8 maps. A ninth person sees that the crew is full and can start a new one from the Crew tab.
What is inside the link?
Only which countries you have been to and your card name. The link never contains your Want to go list, years, notes or location. The app shows this text on the invite screen so you can check before you send.
The data sits after the # sign in the address. Browsers do not send that part to any server, and Inkpass runs no server that stores it. The privacy page explains this in full, and the guide on comparing travel maps walks through the fragment in plain terms.
Share only maps you have permission to share. The terms ask you to get a friend's consent before sending their map to someone else.
Which cards can I post?
The Share screen makes Overlap and Crew cards in the same 9:16 and 1:1 sizes as the World Card, with a QR code and a short link. The suggested message reads like a normal chat line, for example the number of countries in common and a link to compare yours.
On Stories, add a link sticker and paste. The app copies the link for you before opening the share sheet.
What if a link looks broken?
Links include a two-character check, so a truncated link is caught. If a chat app cut the link, the app shows an invalid-link screen instead of a wrong map. Ask the sender for a fresh one: the Ask for an update button on a friend's page writes that message for you.
A link made by a newer version of the app shows a notice that you may need to update. The country index inside links never reorders, so old links keep working.
How do I get a fair comparison?
A few habits keep the numbers honest. Agree on the counting rules before you swap links, since territories and layovers move totals. Send a fresh link after each trip, because a link is a snapshot and the page shows the date of the map. When a friend's map looks old, tap Ask for an update instead of guessing.
Keep one link per chat. A new link from the same person updates their entry in your Crew, so there is no pile of duplicates to sort.
Frequently asked questions
Does my friend need Inkpass to compare maps?
No. The comparison runs in their browser. They tap their countries on a web page and see the overlap card without installing anything.
How many people fit in a crew link?
Up to 8 maps. When a crew is full, the app tells the next person and suggests starting a new crew.
Does the link reveal my location or my trip dates?
No. It contains visited countries and an optional name. Years, notes, the Want list and location are never part of an Overlap or Crew link.
Is comparing friends free?
Yes. Overlap and Crew links are free. The free plan keeps your 3 latest friends in the Crew tab and Pro keeps all of them.
